This course teaches basic procedures for detecting the presence of eavesdropping. It describes the use of wiretaps, “bugs” and concealment devices such as crystal, dynamic, cardioid, omnidirectional, condenser and pneumatic microphones. Also described are contact devices, such as the contact and spike microphones, and outdoor devices such as the parabolic and shotgun microphones. The course concludes with an explanation of the three-step process of inspection used by countermeasure technicians.
